Owl in the Sun play a home-grown blend of acoustic folk and swing, with self-penned songs that herald from outside the city way of things.
From the heart-warming to the dark and edgy, their songs blend infectious melodies with luscious vintage vocal harmonies over a line up of upright bass, acoustic guitars, accordion, violin and flute.
“Absolutely lovely!” - Bob Harris, BBC Radio 2
“Owl in the Sun play folk music with a gentle sway that hints at a turbulent force lying just over the hill on the next wind.” - The Alternative Root Magazine
“Owl in the Sun's fourth album release, ‘Into the Winter’s Night’, is a timeless collection of observational vignettes rooted in Americana, folk and swing. The album showcases the Owls' hallmark blend of thought provoking storytelling and rich vocal harmonies underpinned by carefully crafted folky instrumentation.
The band swings you from dance floor to cocktail bar and holds your hand through the darkness lurking beneath the surface. The songs deftly navigate the troughs and peaks of dark times and gaiety; the fizz of the French cafe and the trappings of place and time. This is an album of joy and hope - into the winter's night we go - together.”
