Lyrics
Doggerland (T Crozier-Cole)
Out beyond the sands, beyond the bone white trees
Tide climbs higher every year, land turns to sea
Turn to see our footprints, trace meandering lines
First there were four, now two more, ‘though half the size of mine
Out to the island, where my father was born
Only birds live there now, all the deer have gone
Last night I saw a vision, heard voices in my head
Thought I saw him standing there out on the water’s edge
Land beyond horizon, I’m pretty sure it’s there
See clouds build on fine days, adrift on the evening air
White melts to green, green fades to grey
We’ll walk towards the rising sun, and find another way
Walk, to the light
Walk, through the night
All will be well
Doggerland sinks below
